One of the greatest inventions of the last few years is noise-cancelling earbuds. I say that gleefully as I sit in a restaurant full of noisy kids having a birthday party.
Let’s celebrate the 70th birthday of another song as we continue the countdown of songs from 1956.
#6: Stop, Look, and Listen - Patsy Cline
You didn’t think I was going to throw that song at you yesterday and NOT bring Patsy in to clean up, did you?
It’s another example of what-exactly-is-this-music from the mid-50s. Cline was in no-man’s-land: not exactly country, and not exactly rock and roll. Thankfully, music eventually caught up to her!
So enjoy this bit of rockabilly that you’ve never heard before, and you’ll see one of the many sides of the great Patsy Cline.
Stop, Look, and Listen

Recorded by Patsy Cline
Released as a single, 1956

No, I hadn't heard that one--at least if I have, I don't recall it. But I do love me some Patsy....gone way, way too soon. I wonder if she and Loretta are together singing again...I bet they are!

Yes, they were.
One of my Grandmothers absolutely loved Patsy and her favorite Patsy song was ''Crazy.'' Whenever I hear that song, I picture Grandma humming along with it in the kitchen.

Slope, dear. “I’ve got a head full of feeling higher and an earful of Patsy Cline.”
