The ridgegourd plantations look lovely in summer

Summer is the time in bengal when people love watery vegetables. There are lovely ridgegourd plantations. They are also planted with shade on top to prevent penetration of extra sunlight. In bengal ridgegourd is called jhinge. There is a good dish called jhinge aloo posto where the potatoes and poppy seed paste create lovely taste. It can be eaten with rice. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6EBm70FgzMs https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mKvCmpEJH38

I love watermelon during the summer. Mom used to grow ridge gourd. She'd dry it and then peel the outer covering off to use the inside lattice in her baths. She didn't know it could be cooked and eaten.

I am a little confused. Is it ringegourd or is it ridgegourd? I think there's a typo. I was curious, I look into it and I think it's called patola here in our country. And often used it in cooking sinigang a sour soup dish.

Different vegetables are suited to hot and cold seasons. Watermelon is nice when it's really hot.
