I was supposed to have breakfast at a nearby McDonald's branch early this morning but ended up eating Spam, rice and egg at the school cafeteria instead, because I had to pick up my 10th grader who needed to switch to distance learning just for today. There was a bit of confusion and miscommunication regarding today's learning modality. In any case, I was happy to know that I'll have someone with me at home for the entire day.
My college freshie also just got back from campus. She missed an announcement regarding this morning's class cancellation. She'll go back to school after lunch today.
Oh dear. We're all NOT in the zone.
I just also realized that we're checking in at hotel tomorrow for a Labor Day staycation. I think I'll just veg in the hotel room since it's been awfully hot 24/7. Really, I just want to watch cable TV or play Township.
There's a pickleball court near the hotel. I'll probably check it out if the weather is tolerable and if I have the energy to play. I'll bring my paddles anyway.

@rakski have you tried this luncheon meat brand called Prem? It's just as good as Spam but a bit cheaper. I usually find them at Puregold.

I LOVE eggs but am supposed to be watching how many I eat in a week. (I'm only allowed to eat three eggs in a week.) I did eat a sausage, egg and cheese croissant for breakfast this morning. (Only one egg on the sandwich, which is fine.) I'm not supposed to eat the sausage, either, but I won't tell my doctor about that if you promise you won't tell, either.
I hope you have a wonderful staycation. That's what Pretty and I normally do, too. When it gets hot enough here, I'm hoping Pretty and I can go swimming in the lake about an hour from our house. (The water is usually too chilly to swim in until around the end of May or the middle of June. Although, when I was a teenager, I used to go swimming in the lake on New Year's night with some of my school friends. That's in the middle of winter, but skinny dipping with friends is always fun.

True. It's like when badminton became a fad in the mid 2000's and warehouses were literally converted into badminton courts. I actually prefer to play indoor tennis. But it seems a lot easier to drag people to play pickleball these days.

It was. I can hardly say no to a typical Filipino Spam breakfast.
