If It’s Blue and Croaks Don’t Pick It Up

Well, I made the heading a sort of puzzle. What do you think could be blue and croaking? The only animals I know that croak are frogs. Perhaps you didn’t know that not all frogs are green; there are blue ones as well. The Blue Dart frog is a lovely shade of blue, but unfortunately it is also a member of the poisonous dart frog family. These frogs live in the tropical forests of Costa Rica and Brazil. These are very colorful frogs, as they can also come in other colors like red, green, and black. It is the frog’s bright color that indicates how toxic it is. The most dangerous one is the Golden Dart frog, which has enough venom in it to kill up to ten grown men.
Isn’t this one a lovely shade of blue?

Yes, it's very pretty but I've seen them in the Living Museum in Kimberling City so already know not to pick them up or play with them. And, actually, the ones on display in the Museum have never lived in the rain forest so they don't eat the insects that they steal the poison from so could be handled.

@DianneN as a child out in the country, I would catch bullfrogs. Talk to them and make friends, Thank heavens, these kind of frogs were not around.
