The mango plantation and banana plantation create a natural canopy. Bengal is the highest exporter of mangoes in the country and there are varieties like himsagar and langra which got geographical indication tag. Also in bananas bengal has champa, kanthali and martaman variety of bananas which are huge in numbers. The plantations are converted into forests.
