Artificial intelligence is good tool sometimes the tools make mistakes

May 6, 2026 8:37pm CST
Indian Election Commission revised the voters list over a period of 6 months. Majorly in online mode artificial intelligence tools were used. Problem lies that machines cannot apply human intelligence. There are more than 80 lakhs voters who did not get EPIC number and could not vote. Out of them 50% were genuine voters. I can give one example where machine fails. there are surname of father written as Banerjee. The son used a different spelling of surname that is Banerji. The machine felt the son is not the son of the father so rejected EPIC number. Over reliance on AI and ML can lead to mess.

AI is good for many purposes but it's not perfect and can't truly replace a human.

thanks Judy in India there are Supreme Court judgements where it is feared that use of AI can encroach upon right to privacy

Until AI can get things 100% right for any question or answer, it shouldn't be used for anything.

@sathviksouvik And the US military are using AI in war.... Think how many mistakes the dumb humans are allowing the machines to do... It's stupid!

thanks DE i agree with you. Tools are good for assistance, but on their own they cannot analyze, translate, critically think like humans

You are right. We can only take advantage of AI but we can't totally count on it. We need to have a double check when something is important.

I remember someone who I used to work with saying that even computers are as good as the person working with them and they are not perfect.
