So, I really appreciate those of you who prayed for my stepmom’s son-in-law. They finally said he was well enough to have his quadruple bypass heart surgery yesterday afternoon. My dad texted me around 8:50pm last night to let me know he made it, but he and Diana had to head home before seeing him as they were so exhausted from being there all day. I have yet to hear any news today. Thank you so much for the prayer and concern!

May this surgery be a blessing for him. I have known more than one fairly young, fit, person who had to have major heart surgery. The one that comes to mind is a runner still, has modified his diet and is nice and healthy.

My ex father in law had a quadruple bypass at age 75. He was very fit and hadn't had a heart attack, ever...but his heart was not doing well and after seeing several specialists about his issues, the conclusion was he didn't even have a year if he didn't get it done, so he bit the bullet and did it. He recovered well, but it took awhile. He is 95 now. His heart is failing and this time there is no fixing it, but he is still glad he had the bypass done, it gave him 20 years. And up until just about 2-3 years ago, he was productive and active. At 95, that's not happening for him. He's not happy about being the way he is, but he still has his memories and his mind is good.
I hope the surgery works for the young man and that he recovers well.
