Thongs away.

My wife takes to do with her 91 year old aunt with dementia who lives in a care home but doesn’t really know where she is.
Recently she went through the lady’s clothes, removing old items and replacing them with new clothes she had bought her aunt. She also sewed name tags onto the clothes. However, as happens, there were other clothes in there too with other residents’ names on them.
In the underwear drawer she was a bit astounded to unearth a thong. Yes, a thong, not designed for comfort I’m told. What was that doing on an old lady’s knicker drawer?
The was no way aunty would ever have entertained wearing such an item at any point in her life, so my wife rolled her eyes and assumed that the staff had mixed up her clothes with someone else’s. Then she wondered which of the other 91 year old ladies with dementia in the home would be missing a lacy thong.
It really was a bit of a mystery, and I can only think that a staff member must have placed the thong there as a joke, and an elderly lady’s dignity is not a joking matter. Quite a cruel joke if that’s what happened.
The thong has been binned and decorum restored. For now.

Does someone do several tenants laundries at this facility? Perhaps they got confused.

@celticeagle I don’t think too many 91 year old people in a care home with dementia wear thongs.

When my husband was in rehab, the laundry was messed up quite a few times. He received several pieces of clothing that weren't his.
