The President Was Also a Bartender

In his earlier years before the presidency Abraham Lincoln co-owned a tavern. It was in New Salem, Illinois in the 1830s. He even obtained a bartenders license and helped to serve food and drinks to the local patrons. He later joked about the experience and used it to connect with his voters.
