I was talking to a friend on the bus today and she was telling me about the day she went out for afternoon tea. It was at the community centre not far away. She said there was a selection of sandwiches and all the cake you could eat and a lovely cup of tea in proper China cups. Beautiful tablecloths too. It happens every fortnight apparently. It costs £7.50 per person. I guess it might be nice as a treat but I wouldn't pay £7.50 for tea and cakes ..I'd go to Mom's and have a coffee and a home made blueberry muffin ....and she wouldn't charge me ! Have you ever been out for Afternoon tea ?

No, I don’t believe I really did, although it kind of felt like I did at Disneyland last year.

Hahahaha, that's a good move, went to mom! I also go to my kitchen to get some free healthy delicious food. I am not into tea.

As for me, I don't have personal experiences, but I've heard it's a great way to relax and enjoy some good company. I think we have the same mindset, we both value what is useful and down-to-earth. Sometimes, simplicity and functionality can be really refreshing.

I had tried this in another country before, but not here in my country. It was fun being with my colleagues working in the same goals to accomplish our medical mission. I missed doing it though.

@traceyjayne Well, I was brought up on afternoon tea!! It was when we lived in rural Africa and three pm was always time for afternoon tea although there were no cream cakes because we didn’t have milk let alone cream. Powdered milk for those who wanted/needed it. German biscuits that cook baked. Then when we sailed to Australia from South Africa. We took afternoon tea every day - with Melba toast. We sound so posh!

NO, I like to have a coffee at home with a muffin, I would never go to an afternoon tea. I do not even like tea.

I've been but not very often. The last was probably high tea in Singapore! lol
