I Remember the Old Cowboy Shows on TV

Black and white television back in the 50s and 60s. It was okay to see a bad guy dragged behind a horse or even hanged. A good show always had a gunfight. The sheriff wasn't called every time. Cowboys took justice into their own hands. And, vengeance, lots of that. But now in the 21st century heaven forbid such things would happen on TV. Ooh, we don't want to watch violence and real life of a cowboy or Native American Indian. We can see sex and even rape but not gunfights or killing. People never cease to amaze me.

You can't even smoke on tv anymore.

Oh, I remember Bonanza and Gunsmoke. Required viewing in our house when I was little. My dad was a huge John Wayne fan, too. Of course, not every movie he made was a western, but he did make primarily westerns.
