I have been buying purple yam bread every week lately. For two weeks straight, I bought two pieces because I really enjoyed the soft bread and the creamy ube filling inside. It was perfect with coffee or even just as a quick snack during the afternoon.
But I think I will take a break from buying it again for a while. As much as I like the flavor, it is kind of sweet for me, especially when eaten often. Maybe after some time, I will start craving it again.
We call it Ube Pandesal.
Sometimes taking a short break makes food taste even better the next time around.

@rakski we have yam but I didn’t know about purple yams. It’s not something I eat ….mainly as I don’t know what to do with it ….

The purple yam is a type of yam with bright purple flesh. It is sweet and creamier and often used for desserts

I would try a bite of it... We usually buy potato bread or sourdough bread for sandwiches.

If I don't like it, the kids will have to eat it all or I'll send what's left back to you with them.
