Burton Fire District firefighters in South Carolina presented Burton resident Travis Hollingsworth III with a Life Saving Responder Award in front of his family on Thursday.
Travis was inside of his home when he heard an auto crash into a tree. Travis then went to the scene of the accident when one occupant got out of the van while the driver was inside of the van trapped inside of a smoke filled front of the van.
Travis managed to get the injured driver out of the van by dragging him and take him to a safe place.
The two injured occupants were taken care of by Travis until first responders arrived on the scene.
Burton Fire District Fire Chief Harry Rountree praised Travis for his actions of saving a life of an accident victim.
