Sharing this community garden that one of our Sangguniang Barangay Member initiated in her assigned district. In this photo, they were planting tomatoes and eggplants, and after a few months, they were able to sell and even share them for free in the community, including me. Hoping that more and more vacant lots be turned into a nature-friendly-garden. Have a great week mylot fam!

Was this being included in a competition by department of agriculture? Because I remember recently here there's a competition being conducted so everyone will be motivated to plant. The Barangay, Govt agencies including police they been assigned to have gardens. Just like that turning vacant lot into gardens.

There is a government program, the HAPAG, which encourage communities to utilize their vacant lots into vegetable gardens. We also had a contest before but sad to say, they were not sustained.

@bbghitte I think that program does also coordinated with DA. I learned tonight my bro who works under DA, they'll be distributing free seeds in some Barangay tomorrow. Hopefully, the contest will be funded because it'll be more fun.

That's a great idea. Why is there a fence? Do you know?
