Peace in my Golden Years

Depression seems to push some odd memories on me. Love isn't a one way street. I've sure given a lot. My last husband changed so much. Into such a cynicle and negative person. The last few times I saw him he was like a different person. That is sad. My BFF died suddenly December 20 , 2022. It seems like so much longer, I miss her so much. And a person I thought was my good friend really let me down. I went to visit her and when I came home she actually accused me of stealing from her. I'm not a thief, she had none me for nearly three decades but yet she still thought I might have stolen from her. And, she was so delusional that she really thought her saying if I hadn't done it she apologized was a nice apology. What kind of apology is that? When I tried to explain to her how that wasn't one she accused me of being obsessed. Whatever honey. I forgave her but not a good friend at all. But with all this running through my brain it doesn't even compare to earlier years and the Housing issues, kid issues. I can't believe much of it has really happened. My daughter's mental issues, my grandson's clinical delusions and my anxiety through it all. Yes, I am sure thankful for feeling the peace of recent years, no more daughter drama, no more old boyfriend BS, and Josh really learns good lessons and had matured nicely. Those memories still hang on but they are not as bright and looming as they once were.

I try to focus on the positive memories; but it seems like the negative ones have a way of sneaking in.

It depends on what I am watching or thinking about.

"Misty watercolor memories..." Why is it that the nasty ones seem to be painted in virulent dayglo colors that never fade?

Who knows. I keep getting them coming into my main frame though.

It's really helpful that old memories gradually fade a little.
