I tend to forget this about hair: We shed about 100 or more hairs each day. About 90% of the 100,000 hair follicles we have are producing new hair at any given time. The other 10% are in a resting phase called telogen. Hair falls out about every 2-3 months and then the cycle continues.
With our 4 cats and the three of us with long hair we tend to do a lot of shedding.
The picture is from my collection.

@celticeagle I do collagen and biotin, but I'm 67 and genetics as well. The women in my family usually thin as they age.

Ow! But the kittens in the photo were cute. I guess your cats are cuter.

One of the body's natural life cycles. A messy one.

@celticeagle - You are so right it's a messy one as well as the skin cells we shred every day.

I'm lucky that I have thick hair. I lose a lot every day.
