The Summer of 1986

I am reminded of that year due to another Mylotter's post. I had just left my third husband and was living in this cute little two-bedroom brownstone with my daughter. I was unemployed and living off my AT&T stocks. I had money to blow too. my daughter and I went on shopping sprees, I went to the horse races on Wednesdays with my ex-sister-in-law, danced and really enjoyed myself. I would sleep in, lay out in the sun until evening and then make dinner and enjoy time with my daughter. We had made a friend in the brownstone, and he'd come over for dinner sometimes. He and I went on a lot of adventures that summer. He introduced me to the Watering Hole in McCall. It was a bar but had so much more going for it. Good food, some great customers that I became friends with, two hot tubs that opened out on the pine forest behind the building, and it also had some rooms to rent. He also showed me where some natural hot springs were around the area. I went up there so much that I could come home and go over the entire drive up there in my mind. I knew the road up there so well. What a lovely area. I continued to go up there for years. Haven't been back for ages. This particular year was one where I dated probably more than I had before in my life. I was 35 and was still about 110 pounds. I looked good, felt good and was in for the adventure of my life. My BFF came to visit me for a while, and we had some fun times. She was very good at radio contests, and she won lunches and tickets to all kinds of events going on in the community. What a fun time until she had to go home again and meet her responsibilities. That fall I went to work at an answering service. That is something we don't have in this country anymore. We took calls for people after hours and then would contact them with their messages. We had businesses of all kinds, doctors and many others that we took messages for. It was interesting work. I really enjoyed that year.

@celticeagle It would be nice if you could combine the stories/memories somehow and put them into a book.
