I try not to look at my emails while on holiday - it’s rude, and unnecessary, and what you don’t know you can’t do anything about so why bother. But today I had cause to turn on my phone and cheque that my pension had been deposited - it had. But I also noticed an email from the main financial institution with which I bank. It told me that it is giving me (and all others who qualify) £100!! This they do when they say they can afford it after having made substantial profits. Last year we all got £50 so things are looking up. Okay, it’s not that much but as I read the email in the park under all the sultriness of a hot day in Rennes church bells rang out! What’ll I do with an unexpected £100? I’ll follow the advice @porwest would give me and invest it so that it’ll make me more money.

Receiving money is always a nice surprise, spend it, do not trust Banks.

£100 is better than nothing. I wonder if our Bank does this. Congratulations on your windfall

That's certainly not to be sniffed at and a good plan for any 'spare' money!
