I've Been Invited to a Birthday Party

My best friend's youngest daughter is turning 50. They've invited me to a small get-together for her birthday celebration in two weeks. I asked if I should bring a present and they just shrugged their shoulders, leaving it up to me. I should, right? What would be an appropriate gift for a 50 year old single mom? Some sort of gift card? It's being held at a restaurant and appetizers are being provided. I don't think I've been to a birthday party in 5 years and maybe 20 years before that.

If you know the daughter very well and know the kinds of things that she is in to then you could get something that she likes. If she is into crafts or like hobby things. Cash and gift cards are always good. But some people do look at that as the go to because you dont know what else to get. Just depends on what you are feeling. Being it is a older female I believe she would be happy to get cash or gift cards. Maybe even a gift card for the place that the birthday party is being held at. I would think that place would be some where she enjoys eating at with them holding the party there. I hope this helps. I am only 40 years old so just trying to help from my point of view. Hope you enjoy the party.

I agree that a gift card is probably a good choice.

A gift card sounds a good idea unless you know her well enough to know what she'd like.
