Just got a text from my sister-in-law that hubby's brother is in the emergency department at the hospital.
His heart is in aFib.
He's been through this several times before. They're shocked his heart before and re-set it. Not sure what they're going to do for him today or whether they're going to admit him overnight.
He's 55 years old I think.
Waiting for updates.

I wish you the best of luck. Does he have a pace maker? If not is this being considered an option at this point? It's usually a last resort, but often a reason one is considered.

I just asked about that. I was told they only do pacemakers on aFib patients at 35% functionality and below. His heart is at 55%.

@LooeyVille Ah, got it. Makes sense. As I said, it's usually a last result and if they can control it with medication, they'd rather do that.

My friend Beth spent an overnight with aFib last week. She has not gotten back to me with any more details. I hope your brother in law is alright.

I hope he'll be okay. Vince had this before he had the valve replacement.

Is he on medication? Hubby had afib and was on meds...they didn't always work though. He was shocked several times. I'm sorry to hear that your BIL is having that problem.
