Crazy Ways to Clean Your Toilet

One of my least favorite chores is toilet cleaning. Mine is free of stains but some folks aren't so lucky. I came across this fun article on interesting ways to make the toilet sparkling clean:
* Kool-Aid-- Choose your favorite color and flavor. The citric acid makes an effective cleaner. Just sprinkle a few in the bowl, leave a few minutes, then scrub and clean.
* Coca-Cola -- Simply pour a can of coke in the toilet, leave 30 minutes. The acid helps to clean.
* Alka-Seltzer-- Just drop a few of the tablets in the bowl, let them fizz and dissolve completely and it will help to break down stains.
* Denture Cleaning Tablets -- Drop 2 to 3 tablets in the bowl, let completely disolve(for tougher stains leave over night).
Fun stuff, huh?

A lot of that is a myth, and doesn't always work. Some things can actually damage the pipes. But people post them, anyway.

@celticeagle You know someone is going to take that word very loosely and think it's a good idea. Which we know, not very smart.

I've read about those suggestions.
I would imagine that the top 2 would leave a residue of colour in the bowl, not sure if they would clean it.
The last 2 might work, but how much would it cost, and it would not get under the rim where the water comes out, so not totally clean in my opinion.
I will stick to using regular toilet bowl cleaner and a disposable scrub pad on the wand that I have. It works fine and I have no complaints.

The first time I have heard of using the methods of cleaning up toilets outside of using bleach.

I have a pretty simple way: before I leave (preferably for an extended length of time), I drain the water out of the bowl and pour in a gallon of vinegar. The smell has dissipated by the time I get back, and the hard water stains in the toilet bowl are gone.

I've heard of the Coca Cola one before. If it can clean your toilet, I wonder what it's doing to your stomach!
