They should really pay him money.

So I told you my toilet got fixed Friday along with the kitchen overhead light being changed. Then today, my dad fixed my kitchen drawer, and changed my overhead bathroom light. My apartment complex really should pay him for the work he does on my apartment. I had to have all that done because Housing is coming Wednesday for the yearly inspection. So far, my air conditioner has worked the last couple of days. I’m not sure if that is because they fixed it, or it’s just one of those days it actually worked. I’ll check with them tomorrow to see if they came in yet. And, if they haven’t, I’ll make sure they come in to double check it. Because my air conditioner is something I’d definitely comment to the inspector about if they hadn’t done anything. I mopped the floors too since the people who threw away my medicine didn’t do it (they were paid well to screw things up). I’m used to mopping though so that’s not new.

I didn’t know about apartment inspections. Why do they do them?

To make sure both landlord and tenant are taking care of the place. It’s the one time of year the apartment complex will really try to fix things that are wrong with it.

@LooeyVille It really is, but twice in the past they failed the apartment complex on their end and I almost had to come up with a new pet deposit because Housing was going to make me move. At the very last minute they fixed the problem and I got to stay. It was a close call, and I hadn’t even done anything wrong.

It's a horrid thought: what if your apartment is not the only off kilter place? Housing spectators need to get a real picture of what the units are like. That's great that your Dad is helping you.

Your dad is a pastor and a maintenance man? He certainly is multi-talented. Shame he wasn’t a cleaner too. Could have saved you a fortune. I think the housing people should pay him for the work he has done, as it’s saving them money. About $400 sounds about right to me. Then he can give it to you as recompense for the missing medicine. Sorted!

Sounds fitting! He should be a maintenance man, shouldn’t he! People who know him sometimes call him to fix things, and he is definitely capable. I’m all for housing finally paying the right people.

Yes, definitely tell Housing about anything that hasn't been addressed.

Your dad is amazing for helping you out! Good luck with the housing inspection on Wednesday. I hope you get the A/C officially sorted out tomorrow so you can relax. You’ve been working so hard to get everything looking great!
