Hubby Lost His Wallet

It was a rough afternoon yesterday when hubby realized he had lost his wallet. He had a complete meltdown. All we know is that the last time he had his wallet was to pay for our Sam's Club purchases. Our assumption is that somehow when he was putting the wallet back in his pants pocket he must have missed the pocked and it fell on the floor. We don't really know. We searched the car and the entire house about 15 times. Hubby went back to Sam's Club and retraced his steps. We went to Lost and Found/Management at Sam's Club and no wallet had been turned in. I called the local police department in case the wallet gets turned in there. But we all know the sad truth. Somebody has found it and kept it. Last night was a chore calling banks and credit card companies and putting holds and freezes on our accounts. We're going to have to completely change checking accounts because hubby always kept a blank check in his wallet just in case he ever needed it. This was what was in his wallet: Drivers License Concealed Carry License (gun permit) Retired Police ID $135 cash a blank check various store loyalty cards health insurance card credit card So we're waiting for the bank to open at 9 am this morning to go up and take care of some things related to changing bank accounts. There's a LOT of things we have to do like get him a new drivers license, etc. This is just one of the most awful things that can happen.

I am VERY sorry for your loss. I would be devastated if something like that happened to me. Only de trouble of blocking the cards and getting new documents would be more than what I can bear.

That is a recurring nightmare l have most nights - me losing my handbag with cash and personal items. I hope the person who found your husband's wallet has a change of heart and decides to return it.

That IS a nightmare. I’ve never lost my wallet, but I remember the last time we let my mom carry her wallet, she lost it at Cheddar’s. We hurriedly went back, and amazingly, nothing had been stolen when it had been turned in. Of course, from then on I carried her wallet.

Ugh! Friend left his wallet on doiuble decker tourist bus in London. I think it came out of his pants pocket. He got it back. The only thing taken was the cash, but by then he had already cancelled all his credit cards

That is indeed the most awful event. Vince had his wallet stolen in Vienna which created a bit of turmoil too.

I'm sorry to hear that he lost his wallet. It's not the thing anyone wants to happen.

Ouch, I’m so sorry that happened. I am thankful that many things are easy to do (like going to the credit card app and freezing the card), but that doesn’t change the information that can let anybody steal his identity being gone.

Good grief I feel so bad that he lost his wallet and that you have to go through so much cancelling cards etc.
