Our capital city is celebrating its day on Sunday but no benefits for its citizens :/

Is the situation same with you, in your city? No free public transport rides and such? I think the only gift i got from the city this year and earlier today was a packet of bags for green waste bins that was on my doormat this morning. I'm still thankful. If i'm going to get greedier, i would like plastic bags too cause, i spend plastic bags really fast. All in all, there will be some manifestations in a capital square but i'm not going to go. It's too hot, too crowded and too far away for me.

i mean, that would be a decent thing. i read that you can get a free tram ride but in an old tram which was only a couple of hours in the traffic and on the other side of the city; only specific stations, not lame at all

@rakski that's good you don't have it. i wish we have an underground train cause, many times, trams and cars are interfering with their driving.

No, we don’t have free public transportation on any day of which I am aware.I’m definitely not going to anything that requires spending prolonged amounts of time in the heat. July 4th is the 250th anniversary of the United States, and I will not be doing anything outside. My dad’s side of the family gets together at a lake and stays for a few days in a couple of big cabins. But they spend so much time outside while they are at the lake that I cannot handle it.

In my city, People observe the national holiday with official flag-raising ceremonies, patriotic concerts, military parades, and historical reenactments.

for national holiday, it's same here, i think, even too much. i wish city people or government people would understand their people more and caould be more practical.

I guess they made an effort to give you something at least. In my country, that usually happens during the Christmas season, when the Mayor gives out items like food to constituents so we can enjoy a decent meal for the celebration. But during other government holidays, they won’t make any effort to give anything to the people.

We do not have that kind of perks here. It is a sad thing. I think it only happened a couple of times during the pandemic era.

I'm sorry you don't have any benefits for your country's day. We don't usually have anything either in the US.

I guess your country is still struggling with poor leadership and low economic opportunities but hopefully everything will be alright.
