Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
I know, I haven't been sharing as much...just kind of been in a not being around here much mood. I'll try to start sharing my daily photos again soon. Maybe even later today for that one, we'll see.
I wanted to share about my doctor appointment yesterday though, and plans for the future (health wise).
My doc appointment went okay - I saw my endocrinologist. Last time was 6 months ago. In that time I did not lose any weight, and my A1c (blood sugar average) stayed almost the same; just went up to 6.8 from 6.7.
The doctor was considering taking me off of insulin to have my sugars go up again to get me on Mounjaro instead of Trulicity; they are a similar medication but Mounjaro is better for weight loss. Though they both are for blood sugar help.
Instead, he just upped my dose on Trulicity to the highest dose. We'll see how that goes.
I may start sharing my food/health stuff daily again to see if that will help. I do need to work on controlling my sugar again; yes 6.8 is not bad for being diabetic but they want me to work on getting it under 6 if I conceive. Also, if I start working on that now....I should lose some weight and that all may help me to conceive.
How to do all of that? And don't say eat veggies cause we all know I won't be doing that! lol

Trying to conceive is why my sister lost 100 pounds years ago. She knew being overweight severely limited her chances. She made herself eat certain healthy foods like tomatoes and mushrooms just because she knew being healthier kept upping her chances. When you want something bad enough you do whatever it takes.
Unfortunately, my BIL had issues with being able to get my sister pregnant, and she also has PCOS.
You can do better with your health journey, Courtney. I know you can.

That is good that she lost that much though. I lost 75 pounds once, but I can't imagine doing that work at this age. But I could lose at least 100, get back to the weight where I conceived Eli.
Tomatoes and mushrooms? Gross! lol. I just know I need to cut out carbs and that would help...I Just hate meat on its own lol. No bread, no potatoes on the side?
And I do want more kids so much...but I also don't want to be miserable dieting.. I should have shared the diet plan in the post I guess lol. Going to start with a calorie limit and focusing on protein, while slowly cutting the carbs out a little at a time.
Also, should try to work out again but that is not easy when I am in pain daily.

Yeah, no one can make you eat what you don't want to eat. Even if it's good for you.

@MommyOfEli2013 The problem is, our bodies need carbs to live, so you can't cut them completely. While veggies are considered slow-burning carbs, they are still carbs. It's not just stuff made of flower and sugar. A lot of people think cutting carbs means cutting bread and sugar, but it's rarely that simple.

@kaylachan there are no essential carbs... You don't need carbs to live actually. You need glucose yes, but your body can make that from extra protein, etc... many people are much healthier eating carnivore; which would have almost no carbs.
If you disagree, that's fine... just what I've got in my years in research...but we all have to do our own. What's worse is eating fat with carbs.

That is true, even if it sounds like I'm being dumb. I just can't stand veggies. I'd be healthy if I just cut out the carbs though and are carnivore

I hope the change in your medicine helps. I wrote three posts about weightloss for you to read. An aspect of it you may not be aware of. I hope they are helpful to you.

I checked them out....with my picky eating not sure it is something I could ever follow but good to know.

I am sorry that you are struggling as you are.
I have found that eating a couple of things-asparagus and fresh cranberries (nice and tart) lowered my blood sugar and helped me lose weight a little bit easier.
Give it a try for a week and see if affects you the same way.
Got my fingers crossed for you.

It is life, I've lived with it for 15 years now. That's good those things helped you. I wouldn't eat those personally. I pretty much don't eat fruits or veggies, minus potatoes.

One of my concerns is lowering my blood sugar average myself since my latest reading was around 6.3.

Well, there are vegetable replacement options, like chews that would give the same nutrients as you know.

I would suggest keeping a daily journal which will probably help you day to day.

Well posting my food daily here again would be that I suppose. I do track my food in an app to know how much I am eating and such.
