The courgette seeds I planted at the beginning of May are strong enough and big enough to be planted in the garden now.
So, that was my job for this afternoon.
12 courgettes plants carefully planted and watered in.
Yes, I am thinking now that I maybe shouldn’t have planted them all …after all, how many courgettes can a girl and her mom eat. !!!
The Mister of course, does not like them …..way too healthy for him !
Don’t worry I shall sneak some in his good when he is not looking !
The next to go in will be the cauliflowers…..
I’m getting the hang of this gardening malarky !

He doesn’t do a lot of veg ….you know I have to use onion powder as he likes the taste but not the texture !
He also won’t eat, peppers, tomatoes ( except the canned ones ). Sweet potato, leeks, , cucumber …swede ….parsnips …

12 plants might turn into a courgette avalanche later in the season! They’re famously generous once they get going. You may end up with more than you can eat, gift, or sneak into the Mister’s meals ??

Yes, I’m hoping that I can give some to our neighbours and to the lady that has given me some tomato plants….

I never really liked them either. At first I thought I had never had one, but I did some research several years ago and realized it was just a zucchini; there are some good things you can do with them though. Ever looked up zucchini bread or zucchini cake? You can't even tell the courgette is in there.

@Traceyjayne It totally changed my life. I can't remember if we've ever planted any courgettes, I will have to ask my mom. She is starting to plant things for the first time in a while, and we are starting with an herb garden.

Yes, they are the same thing……i haven’t had many the last few years but they are good roasted and I use them in cakes ….on their own they are a bit bland I find.

@LindaOHio ……I am guessing I am going to have quite a lot ….. im thinking plenty of cakes will be made ….they give moisture, thankfully you don’t need them for flavour in a cake ….
