Did you known the Roman's had a shopping mall. In the shopping mall; there was stores and apartments lined up just like a shopping mall. In the shopping mall you could buy food every day that was fixed for you to eat. You could buy lots of fruits and vegetables every day. They has small shops and apartments that you could live in and sell from. They were more advanced than you think they were. I like reading about history. These are just some interesting facts I thought you would enjoy.

I did not know about the Romans having a shopping mall even though the Romans were great road builders.

A lot of ancient culture was very similar to today, just without all the technology we have.

@jstory07 Well, yeah, of course. Just not as advanced. Everything, technically, is a technology. When they ran gas through pipes for lighting back in the day...that was a technology.

Imagine the world if the Roman Empire did not fell to the Germanic Kingdoms and the Ottoman Empire...

I've always considered them far ahead of their time. I mean, their roads from 2,300 years ago are still in existence, while our interstate is closed to repair a road just repaired five years ago. Thanks for the history lesson!

Yes, I know, I have seen the remains when I visited Pompeii. When I was a student (in Italy) we studied a lot about the ancient Romans. We still have remains of what they built all over Europe.

Many city residents lived in apartment buildings and didn’t always have full kitchens, so food vendors and markets were a big part of daily life. Fresh produce, bread, olive oil, and prepared meals were commonly sold.

They also killed Jesus so there is that and yeah they were very advanced, some say like US is now. Its very\ similar, great empires implode. because they get so big. We still have a chance, but way things are looking we going to do what Rome did. Not a Debbie downer, but the math is not working in our favor right now.

Yes I did know about the Romans. It was interesting walking around the ruins of Pompeii & Herculaneum where you could see some of the shops & food shops from all those years ago.

As archeologists continue to unearth the past, they are discovering more and more about how advanced the Romans were. They had running water, sewer systems, and all kinds of other advanced engineering that we just take for granted today. All that was lost when Rome fell and the world fell into the Dark Ages.
