Have you tried chicken gizzards? :(

It's my fault for buying this in a German chain store and thinking it was a chicken liver but the packaging where you can't tell what meat is in there, just paper and small letters isn't right still, i wanted to try this part of the chicken even though i found out it wasn't what i wanted to buy initially.
As a young child, when my late grandma from my mother's side had small fair events at the countryside, she liked to invite us over food and chats, along with other relatives. She had a course of many meals. First, it was a home-made soup, then it was a boiled food (mostly chicken and vegetables), then something fried with potatoes and salads and in the end, we had a dessert, which were mostly home-made loaf cakes and some creamy cakes too.
Back to chicken gizzards, i rarely ate them in my own home but at my grandma's, i wanted to try them out in a boiled form and i remember they were so chewy and unusual. Back to present, i boiled them for a long time and they were not so chewy but, you know, i felt weird eating something i don't usually eat and thinking it's actually a chicken stomach so, i only ate the half.
I really try not to waste food but, sometimes you can't help it. Also, it now makes sense that it was 2 days before another sale and there were a lot of these products in a store's freezer. I guess, they were all chicken gizzards, which noone wanted.
My lunch was a veggie one but i'm good for another day.

yes, but I prefer chicken. Pork liver if not cook properly, becomes too hard

i also think that before they were cheap but for these recent ones, i paid 1,85 euros on sale. o, yes, when money is tight, we have no vote.

@valherma00 I didn't mind the taste but they're not a favourite food.

I do eat gizzards, but not often, and only when they’re soft, not hard or chewy. I usually boil them in a pressure cooker so they cook faster and come out really tender. I like chicken feet better than gizzards which I also cook in a pressure cooker until the meat is too tender it almost falls off the bone.

that pressure cooker sounds great. i cook on gas and i don't like it sometimes but it's cheaper than electricity. after this, i better stick to my dear chicken liver
