I had no idea that this event was happening. Tonight is night 2 of "Music America: The Songs That Shaped Us" at Monmouth University here in NJ. It is hosting a 2 night concert at the newly-built Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music. The official grand opening is in like 2 weeks but they held this concert as a kind of inauguration event.
Last night was day 1 and it looks like Bruce Springsteen and Kenny Chesney closed out the show with "This Land is Your Land". Bruce said that it is the greatest love song written about the country. Can't disagree with him on that.
Despite being a Jersey girl I can't say that I'm a big Bruce Springsteen fan. (funfact: my uncle turned down booking him several times at my family's famous boardwalk bar) Yes there are a few songs I really like (ahem @FourWalls Jersey Girl) but overall I'm team Bon Jovi.
I just saw this collaboration from last night on Twitter and I have to say that it is great.

Bruce Springsteen has publicly criticized Donald Trump, calling his administration "corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous" during a show in Manchester, England, on May 14, 2025.
That's the only reason I like Springsteen

Aye well he hates Trump so even if I can't stand his music I respect his opinions about Trump

Don’t know why you’d like “Jersey Girl”…
BTW, I wonder if the people touting “This Land is Your Land” as a “patriotic American anthem” know that Guthrie was blacklisted for his left-leaning politics in the 40s and 50s….

I"m not a Springsteen fan either; but I do like his political leanings.
