Good morning and Happy Sunday friends. The weather hasn't really figured itself out this morning in our region. The sun is out and then it is behind the clouds. But, it is lovely outside, just a nice enough light breeze that when the sun is shining strongly it is very pleasant. This morning I see that I got quite the sunburn on my arms yesterday. My thyroid medication leaves me very sensitive to the sunlight. I need to see if the doctor can change that med because I do not want to walk around for several months of the year looking shiny from wearing sunscreen, nor do I want to be red and sunburnt. Today the sunburn is sore, but I have aloe aftersun on it, and hopefully that will change the way it feels soon enough. After supper last night, I got a text from our son. He asked if I had had any ice cream yet. We have a bit of ice cream every evening here. He told me that he and the girls were on a nature hike not far from here, and that he would be here in 7 minutes. So, he parked the truck here and he and I and the babies walked over to the ice cream parlour. It was a nice treat. We all visited here afterwards, Grandpa played with the girls. They had to tell us all about their new t-ball set that Mom and Daddy bought them yesterday. They are both ready for the season to begin next month and show off their skills and learn some new ones. At noon I have an appointment at the pharmacy to get my 6-month covid vaccination. How are you spending your day today? ~Photo is mine

Thanks, that bird just flew into our backyard one day and perched himself on one end of the clothesline pole.

Is that a flacon in your photo? Sun in small doses is good but if you burn quickly that can be a problem.

I'll bet you miss living in the country sometimes @Juliaacv It can be too strong on anyone that's over 50 so it's become my policy to send only a few minutes at a time in direct sun, the rest of the time I'm outside I spend in the shade with Roscoe, he's no fan of the heat

@rebelann There are times that I miss this or that about living in the country, but the place and the yard was just too big for everyday life for just the 2 of us. My next doctor's appointment isn't until August, but then I will ask him to change that medication as it is not helping me at all. My left arm is burnt worse than the right one is, and I worry about developing melanoma innocently from a medication as I am not a sun worshipper.

Yes it is. We used to live out in the country and had lots of wildlife come by and visit us. It was a cloudy day but I know that the UV rays can be strong on such days, and as we age our skin changes, plus that medication that I take doesn't help.

Sounds like you had good fun yesterday. Swimming and laundry are on tap for today. We might get storms this afternoon, and it is going to be fairly hot..so I plan to swim late this morning..besides if I am lucky there won't be anyone at the lake hogging the beach chairs.

@Juliaacv We only get our Covid shots once a year here. Guess it works, not too many seem to be getting Covid now.

Have fun staying cool at the lake. We are getting ready to go out and pick up the game for the babies, we ran out of time yesterday, after that I can get my booster shot.

@snowy22315 It is recommended to get a shot every 6 months, but you can get them quarterly also. My immune system is strong enough to last 6 months.

We had planned to go out for a trip and a walk by the lake this morning, but I had a very terrible night. I do not know what happened but something I ate gave me an allergic reaction. I am recovering, but we decided to stay at home. I am glad your son and the girls visited.

I hope that you can rest and recover from the reaction Anna. We saw them in the morning yesterday at the soccer field also. Klaudia wanted to get some nice folding lawnchairs like we have, but told me that they were quite pricey, and I told her where they were on sale, and now they have a pair.

@LadyDuck Thank you for those kind words. You know that we love her dearly. I have received my covid booster, and I will rest this afternoon. The weekend has been so busy, it will be nice to have quiet time at work tomorrow.

@Juliaacv - I feel a lot better now. I stayed at home and rested for a while in the afternoon. Klaudia is so lucky to have you always there to give her good tips.

My husband worked late and is still sleeping. Not sure where the day will take me. I was recently diagnosed with overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). Still testing me and going to do ultrasound. You had your thyroid problem long ?

I have low thyroid, and have had it since about 2007 that I have been taking medication for. But every year it seems to make me even more sensitive to the sun. I have a handkerchief type of blouse on today so that it is cool but hides the burn.

We went to marble slab creamery, the babies love chocolate ice cream, my son and I each had mint ice cream and had some chocolate chips added to it.

You are so good to take that shift to stay at the hospital, your in-laws must love you so much.

Happy Sunday to you too. Today there is no rain forecast so l stripped the beds washed that then put the clothes in the wash. I hate having to remake the bed as it is like a wrestling match trying to get the quilt cover back on!

Thank you. I feel that way when I have to put the duvet cover back on. It is time consuming and a little frustrating.
