My dad's birthday is next Sunday. I am sending two cards up one for birthday and one for Father's Day. I usually include a gift of some sort, but he doesn't really need or do anything plus the phone I sent up last month was more for him than my mom honestly. Next year he will be 90, and God willing he will be around and we can have a big blow out. I remember though when my grandfather was about to turn 90 my dad and uncle wanted to have a big party for him..but he really wasn't in the shape to enjoy it at all, so it was scraped. He died about 6 months later..Hope that doesn't happen to my dad..who keeps saying he doesn't want to live past 90.
. Hope everybody has a good day now that I have depressed you.

That sounds delightful. I want to get a manicure pedi.I think that will only happen if extra cash comes my way though.

My dad is almost 71, and I made a comment about when he turns eighty. He looked aghast at living that long so I told him if I had to live to be in my fifties then he had to live to be in his eighties.
Not that I can control it.
I hope he’s able to enjoy a 90th birthday party next year. It would be a cool celebration.

It would be fun..I will insist my son attends as well. We have had trouble getting to go up there. He is always using work or dog sitting as an excuse.

Happy birthday to your dad. We have two dear friends in their 90’s. One is 93 and the other 97. They are very blessed to be mentally and physically well off.

That is good. Thanks, My dad has Alzheimers and he has allowed himself to deteriorate physically. He was always so strong and healthy. Of course his mind is failing him..but I feel happy I can still carry on a conversation with him. He honestly sounds the same on the phone as he always has, but in person he asks the same questions repeatedly.

I hope he is in good enough shape to make it to his 90th birthday in a year. My own Dad would be 95 if he was still living. My (ex) father in law is 95 and while he has health issues and is very frail, his mind is still fine. I am sure you would like to be with him on his birthday, but I know you are too far away to make that trip all the time.
