What international food do you frequently cook?

We want to expand our daily cooking options. So far, we've been trying to cook international foods from Mexico and India. Most of my cooking is Indonesian food as I am from Indonesia so i don't even need to try to cook any of it. And my husband usually cooks Italian food like pasta and pesto. I would love to try to cook other international foods which are easy to make and require simple ingredients. Maybe your comments can be my inspiration.

I have learned the skill of cooking only a few days ago. Now I can cook a few Indian dishes that are eaten in my family. I'm glad that my parents and my wife like foods cooked by me.

@Shivram59 There are tons of international foods that are vegetarian or even vegan. You can also adapt meat dishes to be vegetarian. For example, you can use beans, tofu, or wheat gluten to substitute for meat..

You know how to cook a lot of food from different countries. That's very impressive of you. How did you learn that?

@LadyDuck I used to collect a lot of recipes from newspaper or magazines when I was a kid. I also liked to watch cooking show on TV and wrote down the recipes. But the funny thing is I seldom tried the recipes. Now, I don't know where my collection of recipes is. Do you still keep your cookbooks?

I love to make Italian food, but I don’t kid myself that it tastes like authentic Italian meals. But I mostly cook Mexican when it comes to other cuisines.

I like both Italian and Mexican foods. Why did you pick Mexican food as the one you cook the most? Once when I was lazy to cook, I bought a premade guacamole from a supermarket. We didn't really like it as it didn't taste fresh. So, after that i stopped buying it, but I make it by myself everytime we want it.

@Ayu2026 I guess because it is so common here. Which makes sense with our proximity to Mexico.

@AmbiePam That's true. Even, I think the spicy stew, Chili is known as a dish either from US or Mexico.

@Wrexxo That sounds so simple and easy to cook your noodles. I think you can add some vegetables in it, like broccoli or cauliflower, to make you noodle soup tastes better and ... healthier..

LOL. Yes, I guess so. A lot of countries have their own version of their noodles dishes, Ramen, spaghetti, chow mein, etc. How do you usually cook your noodles?

You seem to be very open-minded about cooking and eating foods from different countries. May I know how you started this?

@Ayu2026 it depends of the region.it's a continental but mediterrenian food too cause we have the Adriatic sea. i live in a continental part but i come form the easter region originially so, there are beef stews, mild ones, roasted river fish, pork dried delicacies, things like that. sea fish is good too but river fish speaks to me more. capital city croatian food is cheese pastry, meat kebab, pork steaks and others.
