Ouch!

Last Saturday I was helping my husband move our barbeque. The little wire basket on the front holding the grill brush fell off and landed on my foot and part of my big toe. Ouch! It hurt and swelled up immediately. Almost a week later and the swelling has come down and the bruising is fading. So innocently done, yet such a lasting impact. When did you last hurt yourself that it lasted so long? ~Photo is mine

Ouch indeed Julia Anything landing on our feet like that would be sore Did you have shoes on? So last Saturday I drove home 139 miles from where we were on holiday. All the gear changes with my left foot resulted in me hurting foot and ankle and tearing and stretching tendons which caused a swelling 12 days later it has started to recover 13 days of pain killers , ice packs, and rest, And only two short bike rides

No, I never wear shoes if I can help it. You must have done alot of speed changes to be shifting so much that you did so much damage. We ain't as young as we used to be when little things like this affect us for so long are we?

Thank you. The colour is coming brighter each day but the swelling hasn't gone down as of yet.

I really couldn't remember the last time I was hurt. These days I get paper cut often but they don't last long.

oh my, I hope you will be better soon. Last year I thought I had fractured my little toe when I accidentally bumped it on a heavy table.

Our toes really get taken for granted don't they? They cause us so much pain when we bump, bruise or break them. Of course we do get our balance from our toes.

I injured my right knee about three months ago when I fell down tripping over a step on the front door. It took about two weeks to heal up by use of an ice pack on my knee.

An injured knee is so much worse than an injured toe. It is good that you were able to get relief from an ice pack.

Last May I fell on my knee on the hard wood floor. It swelled..got a knot on it..and it was sore and tender for a long time. I was afraid it was permanently damaged. It took a good 2 or 3 months for it to get back totally back normal. I thought about getting it Xrayed but it seemed to be gradually improving. Hope you are starting to recover from it.

I remember that awful fall you had on your knee. An injury on a major joint such as the knee is much more serious. The colour is really bright today, so many different shades of purple and blue, it is working its way out, but that swelling remains. It will slow me down a little bit today, as I am going with Grandpa to spend the day with the babies. They don't know that I am coming, so I will surprise them.

Oh no! I am so sorry Julia, those little incidents can cause a serious pain. I fell on my butt yesterday while helping my husband to lift his legs to go to bed. It's not painful at least.

Ouch, you hurt yourself too. The toe is very colourful today, I wish that the swelling would go down.

@Juliaacv - I hope your toe will be well soon. The bones of my butt only hurt a bit.

I am often stubbing my toes, but this wasn't the end of the toe, it is the start of it. And does it ever hurt still.

Oh dear. That would have been very painful. I got a blood blister pruning roses and the blister has all gone now but the spot is still a bit sore.

Yes, it is painful still. I am afraid that it may slow me down today as I am spending the day with Grandpa and the babies, and they are so active and run so fast, they don't understand what I mean when I tell them that I am old. Blood blisters can be quite painful.

Oh I am pretty sure that part of it is broken. The things fell onto it and I wasn't able to bend it for a few days due to the swelling. I stub my toes all of the time, this was different.
