Almost 20 years on Mylot

I just realized I've been on Mylot for almost 20 years. I was practically a kid myself back then. I started writing on here before I met my husband or had my son. It's funny to think how much of my life has happened while I've been using Mylot. A lot of the people I used to talk to are no longer on here, but I've met many others.
There were a few years when everyone left Mylot for another platform and then came back to Mylot. It was such a weird time for Mylot. I went from being a single teenage/young 20 something to building my family. I got with my now husband and we had our son. I went through all of the parenting milestones, and now I'm nearing 40. It's a lot to think about.
I have spent time off and on on Mylot over the years, going months without writing anything and then making my reappearance as if I never left. It's funny how life works. I only have a few people who know my real name off of Mylot, but I try and keep my name from being public. There was a time when I used my first name and picture on here, but I decided to change it because I didn't want others from my actual life to find me. This has always been the place where I could write about life and not have to worry about what those who know me in person would think. I don't mind people I meet who have learned about me from here, knowing my story, because they already know a little more than those who know me in person know, but I don't want those who know me in person to know some of the stuff I talk about on here. I like being able to vent and talk about things without having to worry what those who already know me think. This is the kind of place where like-minded people find you based on the things you talk about.
I sometimes miss the earlier days of Mylot, back when I was still so young and trusting of the world. I love that there are posts I have written that are so different from who I am now, because it reminds me of a different season in my life. Almost 20 years here, man, it's crazy to think I've been here that long.

Thats so cool! I'm also and old lotter .Sad to say I couodn't keep my old account ,I forgot my log in details because I too went on hiatus because I had work back then and couldnt even log in , I forgot my log ins bit its okay , Im still around.

You’ve been here as long as I’ve been here. I was a lot different back then, having just started the journey with my dementia ridden mom. I thank the Lord every day that is over. I also had just gotten on disability. Back then Mylot paid more, but I still love it here because of the people.

I feel like most of us were different back then; the world changes you. I was so much younger and just starting to become an adult and figure things out. I didn't have a child or a husband. I was still just a baby for the most part. I am sorry you were going through so much back then, but sometimes the things that are hardest in our lives are what help us become who we are meant to be, but it really is difficult to see it like that sometimes. I like the people here too, it's crazy to think some of us were here back then, but still didn't know each other existed.

Wow! You spent a lot of life on here. I have been here about 18 years. I was about 20 years older that you when I ventured on here. I had just been through some interesting things on another site that I won't mention. I hope Mylot continues for a while yet. I've sure enjoyed my time here.

You aren't too far behind me then. I hope it continues too. Mylot was my first experience with this type of site. I ventured away, everyone else did to go to bubblews and would come back here from time to time just to see if anyone was still here, but at that time it was almost like a ghost town. I was happy when everyone came back, but I did end up making a good friend from Bubblews that I have stayed in contact with over the years, so I'll always be grateful for my time there. I like the people here too; most people here are fairly kind, but I have dealt with a few judgmental people here and there who were not the nicest, but you'll have that anywhere.

@sissy15 ........I was on Bubblews for awhile until problems piled up then heard of Mylot and went here. I have had to block a couple on here who became too aggressive and weird over their political views.
