The Couch Experience

Day before yesterday I finally called around and found a company that didn't charge an arm and a leg to pick up old furniture. Just an arm. So, I made an appointment. How weird to finally get rid of this old couch we have had in the living room for years and years. As long as I can remember. And it was second hand when it came to us. The poor old thing was ready to retire. The pickup people came down a bit on the charge so that was nice. Now we have more room in the living room. That is certainly nice. It was getting pretty cluttered in there. One more thing off the list.

There was a pretty nice couch left over at our church garage sale, but everyone wanted a bundle to come get it, even thrift stores. Two 72 year old church members ended up picking it up, and taking it to Goodwill. Their poor backs!

Whenever there are verge pick-ups here, there is always a lot of mattresses put out. I can't imagine what they do with them other than bury them in landfill somewhere.
