Cornish pasty and fries for tea ….

So, for tonight’s tea we had Cornish pasty and fries. Both cooked in the air fryer…..
For those not familiar with a Cornish pasty ….its diced meat, potatoes and swede with spices encased in pastry.
They are delicious.

I think we call those pot pies although I know you can carry yours around with you to eat them. Ours are in a single-serving tin and you need a fork to eat it.
Pretty often buys them. I'm not fond of them. *shrug*

The pasty was initially made to give to workers. It was a hearty filling meal that they could just hold in their hand …..no need for plates or cutlery.
I love sweetcorn but find corn on the cob tricky to eat ….

Swede is a root vegetable ….you may have a different name for it ….the flesh is orange …it is usually eaten with beef ….

@LindaOHio it’s a root vegetable like carrots I guess, but carrots are ….well, carrots.
Usually you peel and boil Swede, either have it like that on a meal or more often mashed ….
