Zambales mangoes are coming

My mom called me up just now to say that she's got 6 kilos of ripe mangoes from Zambales province and would I be willing to have them picked up and delivered to my place. I asked for just 3 kilos because I don't want to appear greedy. Haha. I booked a Grab express and pick up is now in progress. I'll be making mango float (a simple ref cake) as requested by the husband. Do you like mangoes?

I hope you get to try the real fruit. Philippine mangoes are especially good. I had my eldest daughter make the mango float. It's chilling in the ref now and should be ready to be consumed by tomorrow.

@valherma00 My husband said one mango had fruit worms in it. I opened another one and thankfully it was worm-free!

When I lived in La Boca Panama, there was a mango tree in the back yard that had plenty of mangoes for my relatives and myself to eat.

That's great. I love the taste and texture of mango. I just can't eat a lot because the fruit's fiber irritates my throat and makes me cough.

We used 3 pieces of mango to make a mango float (a no-bake layered cake). The rest we'll consume as is. There's still about 5 pieces left.

It’s great that you have so much to enjoy there. I think mango float would be a delicious dessert to make with the abundance you have.

Correct. My husband and kids specifically asked for a mango float. I taught my eldest daughter how to make it. The "ref cake" is now chilling in the ref.

I like mango juice but am not crazy about the fruit itself. I've bought mangoes a couple of times but much prefer peaches or strawberries to mangoes.

Oh, I love peaches. Did you know that our most popular food chain here called Jollibee makes peach mango pie? It's really good. When Jollibee opened a branch in Calgary, my eldest sister braved the long line just to have that peach mango pie she's been yearning for. Apparently, the peach mango pie in Jollibee Calgary is like twice the size of what we have here. So much unfairness of things.
