It was on telly on Saturday evening here. I saw names of Michelle Pfeiffer and Al Pacino and wanted to give it a try. Have you watched this movie before? I don't want to ruin things for some people but i wasn't feeling this movie. Maybe it was due to lack of chemistry, the acting, not being too convinced by the story, not sure. The movie was based on a theater play and i hope the play was better. The story revolves around a waitress lady and a cook that recently joins the restaurant. They are both lonely, with their own problems and want to find love in a big city. Pacino (Johnny) was recently released from the prison and gets a second chance in life and quickly finds the job. I feel, after that, he wants to find love in the same way but his acting and dialogues are so needy and he is too persistent. Pfeiffer (Frankie) wants to find love too but a man declaring they are destined to be, she doesn't believe it and neither did i believe it. Maybe i didn't feel the magic. I mean, i love both of these 2 actors but something was missing here. This is just my opinion, of course.

I haven't seen this film. We're going to the movies tonight at the clubhouse and will be seeing The Theory of Everything.

@valherma00 Yes, it was the story of Stephen Hawking. The actors were incredible.

That's fair. Not every movie with big-name actors is a winner. If the chemistry feels off, it's hard to get invested.

I’ve never seen it, but I don’t really buy Michelle Pfeifer choosing Al Pacino over the plethora of men available to her.
