This is simply mind boggling.

I saw this earlier today and it really is shocking to me...so far this year, Illinois leads the entire US for the number of tornadoes. 196 confirmed tornadoes? And it's still just June!
Don't get me wrong, I am not wishing tornadoes on anyone. I do have to say that this has made pretty much everyone I know here, family and friends, more aware of weather and what it can do, and how to stay safe.
I know people who have lost homes, family members, had places of employment destroyed, and on and on it goes. I cannot remember a time like this, with this many bad storms.
Be safe, and take cover if you are in the path of a tornado, ever.
Here is a map telling the number of tornadoes this year in each state.

Could it be climate change that is causing more tornados?

Yes, the weather people often bring this up, they seem to think so.

That is truly unreal. Those are Oklahoma or Mississippi numbers.

I wouldn't have guessed that. I thought most tornados were in Kansas and Oklahoma.

Wow, that is a lot of storms. I don't think we're getting more than normal.
