NBC news anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother was kidnapped from her Arizona (New Mexico?) home back in February. The abductor was seen on a doorbell camera. Blood was found on the doorstep. There were several public pleas to release her. She apparently had a severe heart condition that required daily medication.
The family received many messages claiming to have Nancy but there are only 2 that are considered credible. The first one stated that "time is of the essence" while the second stated that it was no longer of the essence and implied that Guthrie was dead but the kidnappers didn't intend to kill her. It also indicated that she had been buried "in nature" in Mexico.
This is such a sad but not unexpected development. How horrible. That poor woman should never have been targeted. . . not that anyone ever should be.
