Normally I try to share good news stories but in this case this story is bittersweet since the driver of a tractor trailer passed away when his tractor trailer crashed with an auto on Tuesday evening on Interstate 64 in South Charleston West Virginia.
The driver of the tractor trailer who lost his life was Jeffrey Simons from Iowa. His dog who is female named Hennessey when officials with the Kanaha-Charleston Animal Society (KCHA) used social media to contact her relatives since Hennessey had on her collar showed that she lives in Iowa.
Thanks to the concerned citizens who saw the reports on social media, KCHA officials were able to contact Hennessey's relatives.
Officials with the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown Iowa are contacting Hennessey's owners to pick up their pet as soon as Hennessey is in the animal shelter in Marshalltown.

I am in agreement with you that Hennessey will have a family to take care of her.

I wonder what happened to the auto driver, as usually, a truck driver is better protected in their truck, that in a car.
In such a bad accident, it was fortunate the dog survived, but sad that the owner passed away. I hope the relatives take good care of the dog.

The accident is being investigated by the authorities.

I'm glad Hennessey was found safe and that her relatives were located
