My favorite Aldi finds

After commenting on another Mylotters post about the Aldi blindbox, which was a disaster since I don't actually know anyone who got one. That said, it made me think about my favorite Aldi products. We do a lot of grocery shopping at Aldi; we rarely buy meat there, and we typically go to Meijer for our meat.
We very regularly buy bread, tortilla shells, cheese, granola bars, microwave rice, fruit snacks, garlic bread, cream cheese, canned items, and condiments there. Our favorite finds are their teriyaki sauce, sweet potato chips (that's a me thing), and their house vinaigrette. We have bought other things from there that we liked, but don't get regularly. My son doesn't like their pasta for some reason I can't figure out. I have to wonder if I overcooked the pasta from there once, and he now relates that to Aldi. I usually buy whatever I can find on my grocery list there, except for meat and some snacks. I like some Aldi snacks, but not others. I also really like their chicken salad, and their chicken nuggets aren't bad. I typically buy their nuggets for days when I don't feel like cooking.
If you go to Aldi, what are your favorite Aldi buys?

We go to Aldi regularly, as I like the fizzy lemon drink they stock ….i drink gallons of it. I also get hot cross buns for my Mom from there…..they seem to have them almost all year round. We have had some meat ….not joints, but chicken pieces etc, and that has been nice. I do get fruit and veggies very occasionally but I find they don’t last as long as regular supermarket ones.

I've never had that, but I'm not sure if they sell it here in the US or not. I imagine a lot of their products depend on location. I have found the same about their produce, so I very rarely buy produce from them unless I plan to use it by the next day.

I like their cheese. For whatever reason, it's always good quality and to me, inexpensive. But there are a lot of items I would get there, but get at Ruler (which is a similar store) because the items are cheaper. For example, I get macaroni and cheese for 49 cents. Bread is $1.49. Por sausage is $2.50. I do use On-Cor products, but the Bremer Salisbury steaks are cheaper, so I get those at Aldi. I'll buy Aldi produce. If I am looking for a fancier bread, say like ciabatta buns or something, I usually get those at Aldi. Snacks like cookies and chips tend to be cheaper at Ruler. I get the bigger bottle of Ranch dressing and their ketchup at Aldi usually, which is cheaper.
Because of prices, I tend to shop way more at Ruler. But as always, it depends.

Aldi is our only option for cheaper items unless other stores are having sales. I have found that Meijer has a better deal on meat than the other grocery stores in town, unless Kroger is doing their buy-one-get-one sale for some of their meat. I get almost all of my bread at Aldi. Ranch is one of the few things we buy name-brand, although it's not Hidden Valley; my family prefers Ken's Ranch dressing. We usually go to three grocery stores in a day. Most of our groceries come from Aldi and Walmart because it's cheaper than Kroger and Meijer for most things. Meijer is always the best bet for meat. Meijer has higher prices in everything else, but for some reason, their meat prices are usually reasonable. Meijer and Kroger do sales regularly, though, whereas Walmart's groceries are usually always the same price. Kroger usually has a decent 10 for 10 deal that we check out before back-to-school. We have stocked up on some snacks for our son during their 10 for 10 deals.

@sissy15 One thing we need where I live are more options. The two main grocers here are Schnuck's and Dierbergs, and both are very expensive aside from the occasional sale. I NEVER shop at Dierbergs. Our only other options are Ruler, Aldi, Walmart and Save-A-Lot.

I honestly was hoping that since it was midday during the week, more people would be working than online trying to get a box. I'm off work for the summer, otherwise I never would have been able to try. I also didn't realize how limited they were; otherwise, I wouldn't have tried. It wasn't until after the fact that I read how limited they were. We went years without shopping at Aldi, but started going back and now it's one of our favorite stores.

That's fair lol. I remember as a kid we'd go to the dentist and my parents would promise us a Happy Meal if we did well, the joke was on us because we'd be drooling after and didn't want to eat it. They at least made the same promise after regular doctor appointments, too, so we were at least able to eat those ones. I remember once, after I went to the dentist, my family went through a drive-thru for dinner, and I just sat there and drooled. They got me something for later, but it wasn't the same.
