what a weekend

Literally. It is the end of June for this year and Beau Teak Siamese's final weekend.
I can't believe I just typed that. I brought my laptop up to bed last night so I could wail with Bonnie Rait. Her "Dimming of the Day" song kills me. "I need you at the dimming of the day. You're my confidant." Richard Thompson from the British Isles wrote the song. Then I lost my brain in Archie Fisher's songs and voice. He also is a Brit.
Back to dearest Beau. His heart is just not cooperating. His hind legs are a bit weaker. He is very aware of what is going on around him. I woke this morning to his paw on my shoulder. He needs that closeness. Who ever said that cats are aloof is a total idiot. Cats are sensitive and need their boundaries but no way are they aloof. Unless they are sick. Then they hide in their grief and pain.
Monday at 5 hubby, me, and Beau Teak will be in a Vet's treatment room. I will let go. About eleven years ago Beau reached his arm to me through the bars of a Shelter cage. He'd been in that cage for ten days. Enough. We'll meet again in the Summer Lands.

So sorry..I know you love Beau. I went through the same thing with my most beloved kitty Milo.
Just writing his name made me tear up.

I'm very sorry to hear this. It kills me every time one of our older cats reaches that point. Hubby always swears afterward that we'll never get another cat again. But we do.

He had such special years with you two. I’m so glad you both could share your love with each other.
