Is it tasty or not?

Do you eat watermelon? Watermelon here in the Philippines is abundantly available in the market. It's a watery seasonal kind of vining fruit. My wife and I love eating it. However we find it difficult to determine it whether it's sweet or not. Do you have any idea on how to detect based on it's look or appearance whether it's sweet or not? FB photo

There are certain names of watermelons that has a sweet taste to them you'd have to do some research on which 1's they are.

I am drooling over the watermelon pictures. Watermelon here is still wildly expensive. I saw a pile of those little bitty round watermelons the other day at the grocery for $6.89 They were really tiny! I will wait for better prices, but it sure does sound good.

It's too pricey here too. But we have to bear that high price to enjoy that nutritious fruit for it's grown here in season.

@Nakitakona Usually around the end of July, our melons tend to go down in price. Indiana is a bordering state to Illinois, and they grow tons and tons of all types of melons. They are so delicious.

It is so delicious. We eat a lot of it. If you look at the end of the watermelon where it is cut from the vine. It looks like it came off naturally and wasn't snapped off it is more likely to be sweeter.

I wouldn't buy it because I don't like it. I eat it though if it's free

I feel thirsty looking at your watermelon. I don’t know how to recognise if the watermelon is sweet or not before buying it.
