High Heat Weather Event

Yesterday the temperature soared higher than it has in the past few weeks. Today it got even hotter and much more humid. Environment Canada has issued a high heat weather event warning for the next week for our area. Temperatures are expected to run between 35 and 45C, which is hot. Canada Day is on July 1st, and parades and neighbourhood celebrations are already planned and booked, but this weather will require them to scale things back some. How many more days until those ber months start? They cannot come soon enough, although we have a/c, I detest the heat and humidity.

I can relate to what you are saying since it is hot in Lake Charles during the daytime hours with the temperature at 92 degrees Farenheit.

@Juliaacv One part of living in southwest Louisiana that is the bad part is the extreme heat.

We have the same weather. It's still better than winter

The coldest and hottest days of the year are my least favorite. I hibernate on those days. I can always put more layers on in the winter, but there is a point where I cannot take more than some off in the summer. But I usually take an extra shower to cool myself down before going to bed at night, which helps.

45c is about 113f, that's really hot. Thankfully I haven't seen triples like that since 2012 and so far this year we've only got up to 42.2c but we rarely have humidity with that heat, I doubt I could tolerate a high humidity to go with it.

You have A/C..so you are covered. I feel for those who don't have an AC . I wonder how they cope with the weather

I cannot imagine being without a/c. We live in the city and there is very little breeze, and what we get is basically hot wind, not very refreshing or cooling.
