Welcoming July With a Big Change

July has kicked in and big changes is knocking. Should I start backpacking? Since the beginning of the year we are already preparing on adapting to new process and procedures. 3rd Week of June, we received news that there's a new CEO. But before that each of us have answered survey about training assessment which is confidential. Last day of June, my teammate and one person from other department started talking about re-applying to another position or leave the company and receive compensation. Everything started to sink in. The company is restructuring. Possible, layoffs is happening. Maybe not yet on July but changing work processes will begin working this month. I hadn't expected it. I was hoping for the branch office to be split into two so my workload will be lessened but it is granted differently. This month onward will be hectic for me. I do hope no one gets laid off and will only be offered a new position. Goodnight! for now. So late to sleep, dawn is approaching. Photo was during my vacation last year.

Sorry to hear about the rumors of office restructuring. When it comes to manpower, the main reason for cutting headcount is usually cost. If the company is struggling financially, they may have no choice but to reduce staff to stay afloat in these tough times. Unfortunately, employees often bear the brunt of such decisions. Hopefully, you’ll be able to keep your position; otherwise, finding a new job right now could be difficult with the ongoing global oil crisis.

As to my position it can't be included as my work/tasks does involved transaction needed by all the departments within the company. My worries is the possibility of my new teammate to be lay off as there were some departments the tasks of some is no longer needed which is what she handle. So far the company isn't struggling financially which I believe since there's some employee stole millions from the company. The very reason why sooner some employee will be layoffs is because there were new process how we could do transaction way faster that it needed less people to do the work. Like what happened in the production. Since it's already completed, everything doing the work is machines. The remaining employee in there is only operators. No more manual works.

@Jehanne I think technology can also play a role in reducing manpower, and it’s understandable if companies choose that path to cut costs while maximizing profits. After all, every businessperson’s goal is to earn profits. That’s why it’s essential for employees to continuously upgrade their skills, adapt to evolving technologies, and position themselves as part of that change.

Our salary has been increased which we hadn't expected there's an exchange to it way sooner. Workload, my workload if my teammate will be layoff. Hope not.

I mean, it's already given when someone work in a company or any private sector. Anything can happened in an instant. But yes, I feel sorry to my co-workers that might be affected in this changes.

Honestly, I got no worries just incase I'll be affected since I always have business to return too. I mean, my parents small business. I'm already thankful as of now as I still have my position in the company but I do hope my coworkers will be offered with another position instead of being laid off

It's a bit worrying when you're not sure what's going on. I hope it all sorts out eventually.

Hmm... I'm still working. I still have my position. But I'm honestly worried with my teammate will be lay off and I'll be honest at the same time I'm already worrying in the possible workload I will have alone in the future as well.
