Today my daughter had an appointment. She made there fine in a Lyft but her return home wasn't good at all. I got the recording on my phone saying that the driver had come and gone. I called the office and verified she had not been picked up. She had not so we called her a Uber. When she got home I asked if she remembeted seeing a man in a red car. Yes, she had. He drove in and right back out, never even looked at her. This makes me very angry. I set up her rides so she has plenty of time to get out of her appointment, go to the restroom if needed, and wait out for return ride driver. This one came and didn't even look her way. She was standing right out in front. GRRR!!

I wish I had a way to do that.

If your daughter has Medicaid, she should be eligible for free transport to and from medical appointments. Uber and Lyft get really expensive. One of my neighbors uses the free transport at times. He says they are very prompt, but they only wait 5 minutes, so a person needs to be ready to go at the designated time. He's never missed his, but others have.

That's unfortunately the downside of having to rely on public transportation. It's like they don't even try. There needs to be a more reliable way for people to get around. There are so many people who can't drive or don't have a car who need better options. I remember learning about how there used to be a trolley system in my area that stretched for miles, and they took it out to build the highway, and all I can think about is how nice something like that would be now. My area has almost no public transportation, and what little it does have is super unreliable and doesn't go to most of the smaller towns nearby, so a lot of the older people have to rely on family and friends to take them places.
