I bought a melon today …….how exciting is my life ?

I met Mom this morning at Lidl and we bought a chicken for Sunday lunch.
As you know chicken is my favourite so I didn’t need to be asked twice what I wanted for Sunday lunch.
They had honeydew melons on offer so we got one of those too. It’s something that we both love, but we can’t eat a whole one on our own so buying one and cutting it in half seemed to be a good plan.
I also can’t remember the last time I had honeydew melon.
I’m looking forward to it now.
Is there something you haven’t eaten for a long time that you would really like ?

@traceyjayne I’d love a nice piece of venison right now. It’s been ages. Next week in Manchester we’ll be going all Lebanese/Turkish. Can’t get enough of that.

@Traceyjayne I resorted to my old favourite - moussaka. It’s amazing how a nip of cinnamon in the mince can transform it. Similarly a nip of nutmeg in the béchamel.

It’s been ages since I had venison …..now I’m thinking I would like that ……and all I’ve got is sausages for tea !

Cantaloupe. I gave up buying them several years ago because they were so tasteless. Very sad. I'd like to find a very ripe and juicy one like I used to. I miss them.

I bought a bag of cherries at the market yesterday, they are so delicious! We've been looking forward to them for a while, the supermarket fruit is nothing like them. Sadly they are almost all gone and I'll have to wait until at least Monday before I can get more!
