The photo appeared as a ‘memory’ on Vince’s Facebook page and, as Canada’s special day was celebrated recently, I thought I’d share it here.
When we were having regular concerts at the Music Shack on our Donnybrook property and the musicians were from somewhere other than Australia, we would try to have their country’s flag flying from the flagpole. A Canadian group, the Bombadils, had recently performed and so we had a Canadian flag in our collection.
Vince has some Canadian friends in various photography groups and, as it was Canada Day, we thought we’d fly the flag in their honour and take a photo. Unfortunately, there was no breeze, so I had to hold the flag out to show its beauty. I think it is one of the prettier flags and, or course, instantly recognisable.
The photo was taken seven years ago and taken before we hoisted it to the top of the flagpole.

A lovely gesture displaying the national flag of the overseas musicians.

They really do have a nice flag! I like the Australian flag, too, with the Southern Cross.

Were any of the musicians in that group named "Tom"?
And you may say I'm biased, but I agree that our flag is beautiful, a hell of a lot better looking than the States'.

I like Canada. Hockey, good bands, and a couple years ago we rode bikes with some Canadian soldiers out in California. Really nice people.
