Have you ever met someone who has to share their opinion on everything you do?

Oh, man. I think we all know people who have an opinion on everything, but it really only becomes annoying when they feel they need to share it with you. You say what you had for dinner, and they tell you why it wasn’t a good idea, and what they would have had instead. You mention a situation with a friend, and they tell you why they would have handled it a different way. You want to say, okay, that’s all well and good, but I know how to live my life a lot better than you. You hesitate to mention much to them because you don’t want to hear it. Does anyone know what I’m talking about here?

The cousin of my husband was like that, she always had to give her opinion and it was always different from what you had done. She was a bit toxic.

@AliCanary - She annoyed me so much. I told to my husband that I preferred not to invite her if not absolutely necessary.

Oh yes indeed. I tend to keep my mouth shut as it is a case if them trying to what we call upmanship. My colleagues used to laugh at me & say why do you not say anything. I said let them think they have one over me. I have no need to boast or brag. Let them have their 2 minutes of self glory!

That’s not a bad way to handle it!

I used to work in the banquets department of a nice hotel, and our manager practiced what I called "downmanship". If any of us remarked how long we'd been there that day or how hard we'd worked, he'd always say how much LONGER he'd been there or how much HARDER he'd worked. I finally just started saying "Sucks to be you!" every time he did his one-man pity party (we could sass our managers like that, lol).

Yes, some people just feel the need to 'fix' everything!

Sounds like you know my cousin . For food she always knows how to make it better or faster. Can't see why anyone wants pets. I could go on

Ooh, I wouldn't want to hang around with that person at all. Unfortunately for some people, such a person is often a family member. I'm lucky that I never had a jerky relative like that. I don't mind people giving advice if I'm trying to figure out a situation, but a person who just needlessly criticizes is wasting everyone's time.
